For Mulching and Erosion Control

A product specifically designed for erosion control, Walk-On Bark also provides a pleasing surface cover. It adheres together well and slows and distributes the flow of water. The soft, resilient surface - so clean and free draining - makes it ideal for walkways.

This product is fibrous, containing some woody material. It is highly efficient for mulching purposes, but not as decorative as the pure bark. It is very economical and commonly used for erosion control, mulching in all types of areas, particularly freeway landscape, walkways and garden paths, and mulching of tree basins during the period of establishment. A sufficiently dense cover will inhibit weed growth while providing the other benefits of mulching.

This product does not lend itself to a tight specification, but does lend itself to a tight budget. It is not recommended for playground use or for areas of sophisticated landscape where depth of color is of primary concern. Application rates are recommended as a minimum 3 cubic yards per 1,000 square feet, which will provide approximately 1 inch of mulch to as much as 12 cubic yards per 1,000 square feet, which will provide 4 inches of mulch.

USES

An excellent material for Freeway Landscapes, Walkways and Garden paths, Rose Gardens, around trees and shrubs as a mulch to keep plants from drying out under intense summer heat. Commercial orchard growers have found it to be the ideal medium to hold moisture in the root area when planting new orchards. Helps reduce sunburn damage from reflected heat. Retards weed growth.
