A proven, composted bark humus selected from the best trees in the High
Sierras and made to meet the rigid specifications of the industry.

PREPARATION: Turf-N-Tee is a carefully screened pure bark humus that lasts for years and years. Used in soil as an active conditioner, it is the modern successor to peat moss and leaf mold. Turf-N-Tee requires no shredding or pre-soaking. It contains an added wetting agent and/or water for quick moisture absorption, which cuts down watering time and helps trim costs. (used by golf courses, parks, athletic fields, growers)

FOR THE HOMEOWNER: Turf-N-Tee is recommended as a seed covering for new lawns, and is also excellent for use as a rejuvenating top dressing for old, tired turf. Turf-N-Tee may also be worked in as a soil improver for planting trees, shrubs, and bedding plants.

BENEFITS: Bark Humus does all of these important jobs:

  • supplies rich organic matter (humus)
  • holds moisture and fertilizer in soil
  • aerates soil for full root development
  • counteracts harmful soil alkalinity
  • gives body and richness to poor or sandy soil
  • keeps soil conditioned for years
  • nitrogen and wetting agent and/or water added and…it’s clean, colorful, forest fragrant

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT?: Turf specialists, particularly golf course superintendents, use substantial quantities of Turf-N-Tee amendment in maintaining their high-quality turf that is subject to heavy traffic conditions. Turf-N-Tee is derived from the same bark sources as Forest Humus. However, it is graded to provide an optimum particle size for topdressing mixes. Also, it is treated with nitrogen to meet the particular requirements of turf. Certain other nutrients are present in naturally occurring quantities normal for the types of bark employed. A wetting agent and/or water is added to insure ease of wetting should the preparation become dry.

UTILIZATION: The typical use of this product, as indicated above, is for topdressing turf, greens in particular. Depending upon conditions prevailing, the superintendent may elect to use a small or very large proportion of organic blended with sand. A typical mixture would be equal volume proportions of Turf-N-Tee with sand. The blend should be uniformly prepared before application. Aerification should precede the spreading of the topdressing. Immediately after spreader application of approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch, the topdressing should be swept in with either a mat drag or broom. Immediately following the sweeping operation, a thorough irrigation should be provided. Treatment should always be made to turf that is relatively dry in order to facilitate movement of the material into the aerification holes and to the soil surface.

When re-seeding tees or in the initial seeding of greens, excellent results are obtained by topdressing with 100% Turf-N-Tee.
